A new build or major renovation isn't done when the trades leave. It's done when the homeowner walks through and doesn't find drywall dust on the windowsills, adhesive haze on the hardwood, or sawdust in the HVAC registers. That final cleaning is what separates a finished project from one that feels unfinished. If you're a builder or GC in the Shenandoah Valley, here's what professional post-construction cleaning actually covers.
What post-construction cleaning handles
Phase 1: Rough clean
This happens after framing and major trades but before finishes. It's primarily debris removal, sweeping, and getting the space ready for finish work. Most builders handle this in-house or with their own labor.
Phase 2: Detail clean (what we do)
This is the professional clean that happens after all finishes are installed - paint, flooring, fixtures, countertops, appliances. It's the clean that makes the space livable and presentable for the homeowner walkthrough.
- All drywall dust removed from every surface, ledge, and crevice
- Windows cleaned inside and out (paint overspray, stickers, manufacturer labels removed)
- All light fixtures, switches, and outlet covers wiped
- Hardwood and tile floors cleaned (adhesive residue, grout haze removed)
- Cabinets wiped inside and out (sawdust, packaging residue)
- All appliances cleaned inside and out
- Bathrooms sanitized and polished
- HVAC registers vacuumed
- All trim, baseboards, and door frames wiped
- Garage swept and blown out
Why GCs outsource this
Your trim carpenter is excellent at trim. Your painter is excellent at paint. Neither of them is a cleaning professional, and asking trades to clean at the end of a project usually means the homeowner finds problems during the walkthrough that shouldn't be there. A dedicated cleaning crew that does this regularly knows what the homeowner will check and addresses it before the walkthrough happens.
Scheduling
We need the space after all trades are complete and before the homeowner walkthrough. Most post-construction cleans in the Valley take 4-8 hours depending on square footage and the scope of the renovation. We can usually schedule within 3-5 business days of your request, and we're comfortable working around other trades if there's overlap.
Licensed, insured, and comfortable on job sites
We carry full general liability and workers' comp. We're used to working alongside other trades, respecting the job site, and not causing problems. Your site, your schedule, your standards.
